341 Meeting of Creditors

The Meeting of Creditors is a hearing in which the debtor is examined under oath. A Trustee is appointed in every consumer bankruptcy case. The Trustee heads the meetings and questions the debtor on the information contained in her bankruptcy documents. The main thrust of the Trustee’s questions are in regards to the debtor’s assets. While the debtor’s creditors are invited to attend and ask questions, the reality is that creditors rarely attend.
